The camera has face-detection software which automatically caliberates focus, exposure and color for up to 8 faces in the frame, and also has BIONZ Image Processor to allow auto-caliberation for best image results. The lens is manufactured by Zeiss and is capable of 10x optical zoom, plus a 20x digital zoom, and has image stabilization. The system records to Memory Stick Duo Pro with a USB 2.0 interface. It is also capable of slow-motion recording, and captures audio in 5.1 channel format.
