The Cons:Glossy finish - fingerprint magnet. Doesn't come with many extras - doesn't come packaged with a memory card, protective carrying case. Pressing the record button makes it hard to keep the camera steady - makes getting a good still shot difficult.

Kodak's Zi8 is a mid-range digital videocamera and the highest model in the Z series. It is capable of recording 1080p high-definition video with a 16:9 aspect ratio, and an allowance of up to 10 hours of recording time, given that it can use up to 32GB SD or SDHC cards.

It does not have a built-in microphone, but does have an audio jack that can accommodate and external mic. It can also be used to take still images at a resolution of 5 megapixels. It has recording features such as face recognition and image stabilization. The screen size is 2.5 inches, and videos can be played back on the device itself or on an external HD monitor or TV. The Zi8 includes an HDMI cable to do this, and it also has a built-in swing-out USB arm to connect the unit directly to a computer to charge and upload photos.
